Camp Lucky Mole 2001
We're back !!
OK, so not many of us. Two of the clan Plus one newbie - the lovely Acacia. So given the resources and relative lack of creativity, we've decided to scale back this year and relook what's really needed beyond water, a wee bit o shelter, a bag of energy bars, and good vibes. Why be loaded with baggage from that Prior Century we ask. Perhaps a minimalist attempt at neo-survival will atone for the transfat sins of the last year? We will be true to the desert, we will be the roving camp, with Lucky Mole Stamps in hand and structures so basic we ain't gonna return to camp for days on end! Aaahh...the yang to last year's Big Blue yin and all the efforts that fortress required through the windstorms. Less staying at home and more going out. Less hosting and more and better gifts. All you can carry in each individual's personal transport. Extreme camping.
Scott, Acacia, and Bill will be headin' out from SD on Sat (Aug 25) in a F150 and an open Jeep. Packing efficiently seems the key this year, so we've been able to set a lot of ideas aside for getting next year rolling. Very basic camp, with the intention of keeping ourselves out and about offering ourselves to whomever can use the additional help, establishing the Burning Man Hash House Harriers, and happily rejoining our brethren. Lots of work to be done, so we'll be back with pics after the burn...... \<>/
Boris I would like to write you a poem.
There is new stucco up on my home.
There is carpet where concrete used to lay.
The back room is still saved for play.
I've been spinnin' to those with mixed emotions,
trying to cause a bit more of a comotion.
We're planning our trip out to the playa,
where all the crazies live and spin hot fire.
We're bringin' water and shade for our heads
and a bunch of nasty blankets to turn into our beds.
I want to cross that line that goes from there
to here
and find a bunch of fun folks with a ton of beer.
We'll be packen' glow things
whistles, bells and strings.
Beads, hats and dresses
party fun with messes.
All the heat and sun and wind.
All the bikes and freaks and sin.
All the happy slappy friends,
I can't wait 'til it begins!
